PolyCrete NS Grout

Cement-Based Shrinkage Compensated Grout

Product Group:

Concrete Repair System

PolyCrete NS Grout is a general-purpose shrinkage-compensated free flowing grout based on Portland cement, graded aggregates with set regulating and reactive chemical agents for controlled expansion in both the plastic and hardened states. It is specifically developed for heavy-duty support in grouting of machine and column bases, crane rails, anchoring grout for anchor bolts, and general grouting requirements.

Advantages

  • Reinstatement of concrete floor
  • Grouting for structural building elements
  • Honeycombs repairing
  • Base plate installation
  • Dam and spillway
  • Repair to bridge and port structures
  • Concrete repair
  • Anchor grouting for rails and bolts
  • Column or machine base plate installation
  • Bridge bearing grouting

Mixing

Place 4.5 – 4.8 liters of clean water into a clean container. Add a bag of 25kg PolyCrete NS Grout slowly into the container and mix thoroughly to ensure an average mixing time of 3 to 5 minutes by using an electric power mixer until a homogeneous paste is achieved. Then lightly stir PolyCrete NS Grout for several seconds to release trapped air before placing it immediately. Re-mix the material before re-use if the mixture is left undisturbed for more than 30 minutes.

Once mixed, PolyCrete NS Grout shall be placed immediately and continuously to maintain best flow characteristics. PolyCrete NS Grout should be placed in undisturbed sequence for ensuring complete grouting of space and preventing the formation of trapped air pockets. Use of grout head to assist PolyCrete NS Grout flow through the void is recommended. Micro-concrete can be poured or pumped, but care is needed to ensure the formwork is capable of withstanding the pressure generated by the flow of PolyCrete NS Grout. Cover the filled area with polyethylene sheet immediately after placement to prevent any loss of surface water. Maintain a gap width of 25 to 150mm for mechanical pumping with pre-packed aggregate for larger volume.

All surfaces must be clean, free from grease, oil, laitance, and remove all dirt and contaminants. All absorbent surfaces such as formwork or pre-packed aggregates shall be thoroughly saturated but must ensure free of surface water before grouting work commences. Ensure that the formwork is properly constructed and sealed to prevent undesirable loss of micro-concrete pressure prior to any mechanized pumping application. When the repair section exceeds 75mm in thickness, it is recommended that cleaned single size (minimum 10mm) aggregates be packed in the void to better distribute the hydration energy of the grout. In such a case, the weight ratio of aggregate to grout shall not exceed 2:1.
