Polymer Modified Cement-Based Finish Coat

Product Group:

Skim Coat & Render System

POLYMiX Plaster Finish is a high quality polymer modified water-resistant cement-based finish coat specially formulated for direct application onto POLYMiX Fine and Coarse Mortar Base, plastered surfaces or simply onto concrete surface for fine levelling and smoothening works. POLYMiX Plaster Finish is not recommended to be applied onto painted surfaces and all cured smoothened cement-based finish surface and is suitable for internal applications only.
Appearance: Grey and White
Adhesion to concrete (28 days): Approx. 0.5N/mm² (lab condition)
Pot life: 1 hour
Coverage: Approx. 1.2 kg/m²/2mm
Recommended thickness: 1-2mm / build-up / application
Binder: Cement
Filler: Calcium Carbonate Powder
Additives: Water soluble polymers
Properties: Improved consistency, workability, water retention & adhesion
Remove all loose materials or traces of foreign materials and ensure surface cleaned, free of dust and dirt. It is recommended to damp the substrate surface if necessary prior to the application of POLYMiX Plaster Finish.
Mix thoroughly a bag of 25kg POLYMiX Plaster Finish with approximately 10.0 – 10.5 litres of clean water by using an electric power mixer for 3 to 5 minutes until the homogeneous paste is achieved. Re-mix the material before re-use if the material is left undisturbed for more than 30 minutes.
Apply POLYMiX Plaster Finish onto the base substrate with a steel trowel to fine level and smoothen with an average thickness of 1 to 2mm. Level the wet texture first and continue to trowel while allowing it to gain partial curing until the desired smooth finish is achieved, thus eliminating trowel marks and powderiness. It is recommended to apply a minimum of 2 coats to achieve the desired smooth finishing.
Packing: 25kg / bag
Shelf life: 6 months
Storage: Keep in cool dry condition
  • Temperature range for use 10°C – 40°C
  • Clean tools with water before the product dries
  • Do not apply to extremely absorbent substrate without prior pre-wetting. In hot conditions, protect the surface from drying out rapidly by lightly misting to prevent powderiness.
  • Do not mix the product with OPC / White cement / lime
  • Sanding, mixing, and handling with any sand paper are strictly prohibited. Sanding will lead to powderiness and thereby causes powderiness.
  • It is a good practice not to exceed the recommended thickness of 1mm and at least one day intervals for initial setting before applying the subsequent coat.
  • Do not apply when there is vigorous hacking activities in the vicinity of the application area.
