POLYMiX Coarse Mortar Base Premium is a high quality high polymer modified water-resistant cement-based thick base coat specially formulated for direct manual or spray application onto porous concrete, concrete panel and plastered surfaces for patching and surface levelling works. It is highly recommend for all internal and external applications for a light sanded texture finish when sponged.

Adhesion to concrete (28 days): Approx. 0.65 N/mm² (lab condition)
Pot life: 1 hour
Coverage: Approx. 1.4 kg/m²/2mm
Recommended Thickness: 3-5mm / build-up / application
Minimum application: 3 coats for external at criss-crossed direction
Binder: Portland Cement
Filler: Calcium Carbonate Powder / graded silica
Additives: Water soluble polymers
Properties: Improve consistency, workability, water retention & adhesion
Remove all loose materials or traces of foreign materials and ensure surface cleaned, free of dust and dirt. It is recommended to damp the substrate surface prior to the application of POLYMiX Coarse Mortar Base Premium.
Mix thoroughly a bag of 25kg POLYMiX Coarse Mortar Base Premium with 11.0 – 12.0 litres of clean water by using an electrical power mixer for 3 to 5 minutes until the homogeneous paste is achieved. Re-mix the material before re-use if the material is left undisturbed for more than 30 minutes
Apply freshly mixed POLYMiX Coarse Mortar Base Premium with steel trowel or spray machine to profile the substrate surface to an average thickness of 3 to 5mm. If application requires more than a single coat, continue to trowel POLYMIX Coarse Mortar Base Premium and to allow the underlying coat to gain partial curing before applying the subsequent coat to achieve the desired flatness. POLYMiX Plaster Finish can be then applied onto POLYMiX Coarse Mortar Base Premium if extra smooth finishing is required.

  • Precautions!
  • Clean tools with water before the product dries.
  • Do not apply to extremely absorbent substrates without prior pre-wetting. In hot conditions, protect the surface from drying out rapidly by lightly misting the prevent powderiness.
  • Do not mix the product with OPC / white cement / lime.
  • Recommended not to exceed the minimum recommended thickness of 3 coats.
  • Recommended not to exceed the recommended thickness / build-up and to use in high humidity or raining condition to avoid excessive subsequent build-up.
  • Do not shake or use the vigorous mechanical mixing to avoid entrapment of the application area.
